Churchville Designer’s House in Seongdang-dong is a space thoughtfully planned and brought to life with the identity of UNDSCVRDSGN at its core.

The story began unexpectedly when we noticed a window in a friend’s home. The moment we saw glass patterned in a way we had never seen before,

we became curious about the time it came from. As we followed that sense of time, the theme of this house naturally revealed itself.

In a city always rushing to build something new, we chose instead to reinterpret a space that has stood here since the 1980s, holding its history quietly, yet vividly.

Created for international travelers visiting Korea, this place also carries our gratitude, especially for those who make the journey all the way to Daegu.

Still quietly hidden, it is meant to be a special retreat, one that stays with you long after you leave.

성당동 Churchville Designer’s House는
언디스커버드 디자인(UNDSCVRDSGN)의 정체성을 중심에 두고, 섬세하게 기획해 완성한 공간입니다.

이 이야기의 시작은 우연히 방문한 친구 집의 창문에서였습니다.
처음 보는 패턴의 유리를 마주한 순간, 우리는 그 유리가 지나온 시간에 대해 궁금해졌고,
그 시간을 따라가다 보니 이 집의 테마는 자연스럽게 모습을 드러냈습니다.

새로운 건물을 짓기 위해 늘 바쁘게 움직이는 도시 속에서,
우리는 1980년대부터 이 자리에 서 있던 공간을 선택해
그 안에 담긴 시간을 조용하지만 선명하게 재해석하고자 했습니다.

한국을 찾는 외국인 여행자들을 위해 만들어졌으며,
특히 대구까지 발걸음을 해준 이들에게 전하는 감사의 마음을 함께 담았습니다.

아직은 조용히 숨겨져 있지만,
떠난 뒤에도 오래도록 마음에 남을 특별한 쉼터가 되기를 바랍니다.

    Built in the 1980s, this building has lived through countless moments and memories. Though it needed repairs, we chose to renovate it because it still carried its time and stories within its walls. The windows, likely made from glass produced only back then, still hold the quiet mood of another era.

    1980년대에 지어진 이 건물은 수많은 순간과 기억을 지나며 시간을 살아왔습니다.

    비록 손봐야 할 부분도 있었지만, 벽 안에 아직도 그 시절의 시간과 이야기가 남아 있다고 느껴 리뉴얼을 선택했습니다.

    창문은 아마 그 당시만 생산되던 유리로 만들어졌을 텐데, 지금도 여전히 다른 시대의 조용한 분위기를 담고 있습니다.

    It’s hard to define the exact concept, or to point to one clear source of inspiration.
    Someone once said it feels like the home of an American guy an interior design major who settled down in South Korea.

    정확히 어떤 컨셉이라고 정의하기도 어렵고, 한 가지로 영감을 딱 집어 말하기도 힘듭니다.
    누군가는 이곳이 한국에 정착한 인테리어 디자인 전공의 미국 아저씨 집 같다고 말했어요.

  • Living Room-01-01

    There wasn’t much to throw away. We refilled the broken wood, replaced the floor with porcelain tile, and finished the walls with paint. The light fixture hanging over the dining table was made from leftover wood materials.

    버릴 것은 많지 않았습니다.부서진 나무 부분은 다시 채워 넣었고, 바닥은 포세린 타일로 교체했으며, 벽면은 페인팅으로 마감했습니다.식탁 위를 지나가는 조명은 남은 목재를 활용해 제작했습니다.
